My name is Melodie Dawn Loewen. Normally I go by Dawn, since that is what I was called growing up. But I love my name Melodie so I like to include both names!! My husband, Kent, and I, with our daughter and two sons, live north of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, in the country.
My husband farms and my kids go to school. I am a teacher but, after our daughter (our first) was born, I never returned back to work. I am a musician as well and like to keep busy making music at church and wherever else I can!
I started making hats about 5 years ago, one summer day, on a whim. I felt the urge to try it out and
loved it. I am not one to have hobbies, but this became my first ever real hobby and I don't see myself quitting it anytime soon.

I love all things fashionable and classic. My favourite style of hat is the cloche, reminiscient of the style worn in the 1920's and I think you will see that reflected often. However, the fedora style is really starting to grow on me and you will see more and more of those show up as time goes by as well.
